“Communiqué Amending the Communiqué on the Decree No. 32 on the Protection of the Value of Turkish Currency” was published in the Official Gazette dated 19.04.2022 and numbered 31814.
The changes that brought by the Communiqué is as follows:
While it is possible to determine the prices in foreign currency or indexed to foreign currency in the movable sales contract, with the amendment, it became obligatory to pay the prices determined in these contracts in Turkish Lira at maturity.
Conclusion
With the amendment, the prices related to the contract can be freely determined in the sales contracts of movable goods, excluding vehicles, to be concluded between the residents of Turkey, but the payments related to the contract can be made in Turkish lira.
